He Drew me out of Dangerous Waters

Scripture: Exodus 2:1-10

And a man of the house of Levi went and took as wife a daughter of Levi. 2 So the woman conceived and bore a son. And when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months. 3 But when she could no longer hide him, she took an ark of bulrushes for him, daubed it with asphalt and pitch, put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank. 4 And his sister stood afar off, to know what would be done to him. 5 Then the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river. And her maidens walked along the riverside; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maid to get it. 6 And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So she had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.” 7 Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?” 8 And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Go.” So the maiden went and called the child’s mother. 9 Then Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” So the woman took the child and nursed him. 10 And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. So she called his name Moses, saying, “Because I drew him out of the water.”

Introduction:

As the children of Israel were increase the enemy Pharaoh did not like it, and he spoke to the midwives Shiphrah and Puah to kill all the baby sons of Israel as they were being born. But the midwives feared God and did not do that . May the Lord give midwives at your work place that will not kill your dream as it young. May He give you midwives that fear Him (God) and that will not kill your dream. There are midwives that can kill dreams. May the Lord deal with every dream killer in your life today. May the Lord revive every dream that any midwife killed in your life in the mighty name of Jesus.

BODY

From the scriptures which read; it says, But one boy was born whom Pharaoh could not kill. We are reading about Moses’ mother, a woman who could not allow her son being killed under tough conditions from Pharaoh. She hid her son when he was born and it at came a time when the son grew (i.e. after 3 months) that she could not hide him anymore (Heb 11:23). She made an ark of bulrush for him and daubed it (coated it) with asphalt and pitch, put the child in it and laid in the reeds by the riverbanks.

God gave a child to this Levite woman, a child in a time that was dangerous to have a child. Do you know that God gives dreams/blessings in a time that is dangerous to have dreams and blessings. These blessing shows how dreams/children are important in the eyes of the Lord. May the Lord give me women and men like that. People who do not allow their dream to die no matter the circumstances. Just I will not kill my own dream; I will pray for my dream.

When the baby could not help himself her sister was watching from a distance. Do you the Holy Spirit watches us from a distance, he connects to the right people at the right time. May the Holy Spirit connect you always in your life. Be connected to Divine help in Jesus Christ name. I don’t know what made the daughter of Pharaoh to live her Father house and palace to come and take a bath at the river. It was a convoy coming for a rescue. There is a convoy coming for your rescue in Jesus’ name. Say let it happen to me Oh Lord. A convoy is coming. The Manifestation of Divine Help.

When the convoy comes it will identify you. The bible says and she saw the ark among the reeds. The Lord is watch and a maid has been released to fetch you. I am reminded of our verneculla song which says, Kana ndaona Ropa; When I see the blood, I will pass over you. Pass me not by Gentle Saviour in this season. When she had opened it, she saw the child. When she had opened the basket, she saw Pastor Mukumba. When she came to Hamilton ASSY, she saw Mrs So and so, Mr So and so, Sister So and so, Brother So and so. She said this is one of the Hebrews’ children. When she open it, the baby cried. Cry like a baby today the Lord will hear you. The cry of a months old baby is genuine. She had compassion on him. God used the baby’s tears to control the heart of a powerful princess. God can use the weakest things to defeat the mightiest enemy. (1 Cor 1:25-29). The baby’s tears were God’s first weapons in His war against Egypt. Hebrews dream bigger, Christians dream bigger and their dreams will not die. Say have compassion on me Oh Lord. When Pharaoh’s daughter saw Moses, she had compassion. It was indeed love at first sight. May the Lord sent people that will have compassion on you. People that will love you. Love at first sight.

Then his sister who was watching from a distance came and said, “Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew. Prayer is a nurse for a Hebrew woman. Worship is a nurse to Hebrew woman. The Holy Spirit is a nurse for a Hebrew woman. May the Lord connect you in your prayer.

Now listen to what happen when she went. She called the mother of the child. May the Lord bring people that will nurture your dream until it grows up. May He remove every destiny killer from your life. When happened when the mother came, she was even paid for nurturing her own son. Isn’t the Lord wonderful, He makes all things look beautiful. The Lord shall restore the day that the canker worm has eater and what the locust have destroyed. I release favor upon your life in Jesus' name. Your life is getting restored if you believe in Jesus. Whatever you lost because of circumstances of the enemy, may the Lord restore it in this service. The woman took the child and nursed him. The Lord through the power of the Holy Spirit is nursing you now.

Conclusion

River Nile have got water predators but the Lord preserved the child who was defenseless in there. You are preserved. When she put him on water, she was trusting the providence of God. God did not fail her. Trust in the Lord with all your mighty and He will not fail you. The Lord send someone from the house that had indignation and resentment towards the children of Israel to produce and provide help. He is doing the same in your life. You shall be helped with people that don’t even know the name of Lord this year. You shall wonder how they realized you. You shall marvel.

Those that were among your haters shall come to your rescue because it is the doing of the Lord. River Nile have got dangerous water, but God rescued Moses from this imminent danger. You will be out of danger in Jesus name. I want you to celebrate you are out now. Danger is not lethal when you are in Jesus.

Can you imagine; the baby was sleeping peacefully in those dangerous waters waiting for rescue. The Lord is sending or marshalling a rescue team in your dangerous, fearful, heart-breaking situations. Pray and keep on trusting Him. Scripture says and she named her Moses because she drew him out of water. Some will call names soon because they drew you out of dangerous waters. Don’t worry about that as long as you are of water. Get ready for deliverance.

Isaiah 43:2 says But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine , When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.”

God is saying you are Mine. God will rescue the same way he rescued Moses. Moses was rescued from the dangerous water and Pharaohs decree which had been passed to kill every son that being born in the Hebrew community.

Lastly the theme of the book of Exodus is deliverance, you cannot have deliverance without a deliverer. You need Jesus to deliver you. We need the Holy Spirit to deliver us. Praise the Lord
