Book of 1st John.
Chapter 1 vs 1- 10
The letter starts by highlighting the beginning that in the beggining it was the word of God. Ref: John 1vs 1-5, quoted below. vs1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. * Vs2 :*He was in the beginning with God. Vs 3: All things were made through Him, and without him was not anything made that was made”. vs 4: In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. vs 5: The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
So here John speaks about the beginning where He says we have heard it, we have seen it with our eyes, we have looked upon, and our hands have handled it
The One from the beginning – came to earth, and John (among others) personally experienced this eternal One. They actually had a firsthand experience which also many of us Christians have had and evidently experienced through miracles when God intervene in our families and in our everyday different scenarios and situations.
John debunked dangerous teachings that were creeping into the churches, where people were told to believe that they were no sinners and no one is a sinner. So John is saying everyone who says he is not a sinner is a liar and deceives himselve, for the truth is not in us.
He is teaching us that the blood of Jesus cleans us from all our sins, and by confessing our sins and repenting everyday our lights will continue to shine brighter. As we all know the difference of light bulbs we have seen and used in our households, some do shine brighter than the others depending on their volts. Thus how our bulbs as Christians also shines. If your bulb is not brighter it means the light is not intense to remove all darkness.
Our lights should continue to shine brighter and brighter. As we have a duty to eliminate darkness. We should continue to enrich ourselves in prayer and fasting thereby humbling ourselves so that God can continue to enhance us to shine brighter and brighter and also that he may use us as his vessels.
This is the same as the parable of the 10 Virgins in which the 5 foolish ones did not have enough oil when the bridegroom came. We need to have enough oil always so that our lights continues to shine brighter, he is also saying there is more oil in God and we need to continue mining and receiving from Him. We should always try not to be side tracked or lost but continue showing people that God is the light and whenever there is light, darkness does not prevail. Our walking and our Christianity life should testify that we are walking with Jesus Christ. Whose identity says in him there is no darkness.
Repentance everyday will keep our lights shining and glowing. When ever you start feeling holier than thou.. You need to repent immediately. We need to keep confessing our sins everyday asking for mercy, forgiveness and cleansing as mentioned in the book of Romans 10 vs 8 to 13 . Brethrens our God has it all for us in store for he created everything for us before us and we should fellowship with him and with one another every day. Staying in prayer always🙏🏻.
A wonderful evening you all.
