Title: God Cares
Genesis 30v22-24; 1 Peter 5v7
Introduction
Ø The first step in revival is to know that God cares for you.
Ø He is not just a God uses people and throw them like garbage
Ø He care, hears, and remembers and also answers our prayers
Ø When you read Genesis 30 beginning of the chapter, Rachel spoke to her maid Bilhah because she thought God had delayed
Ø Sometimes in our lives we feel the Lord has delayed and we start to find our own ways of the story
Ø When we subjected to pain and problem it very natural and normal that we look at:
Ø Our feelings: And sometimes we feel like everything is falling apart and there is no hope. But this is not the way to solve problems
Ø Sometimes we look for a place of Refuge: We try to find our Bilhahs and Zilpahs because our first question is How can I get out this, instead we should think like Leah and say what can I get out of this.
Ø Every Human being long for a safe and peaceful refuge far from problems and burdens of life
Examples of people who isolated themselves but did not get solution in running away
Ø It very important to know that quitters are never winners
Ø Elijah fled from the place of ministry and hid in a cave (1 Kings 19). May the Lord send some angels like what he did to Elijah.
Ø May the Lord overshadow you with His presence.
Ø Elijah thought God didn’t care anymore when he was tormented by Jezebel
Ø He started running away and went on hunger strike until God had to feed him and also asked him to anoint three man with anointing that was upon his life.
Ø Sometimes when we go through some stuff and we think God does not hear anymore or is no longer participating in our issues but yet he is busy doing something big for us
Ø It is surprising that the anointing that was upon Elijah was good to anoint 3 men. Waal
Ø He anointed Elisha and Elisha performed many miracles than he Elijah had performed
Ø He anointed Jehu (King over Judah) and Jehu killed Jezebel the person that was haunting Elijah’s life
Ø Sometimes we run from things that we should actually be chasing. The Devil is a liar
Ø He anointed Hazael to be king over Syria
Ø Sometimes we run from the voices of Devil that we should not or should never run away from
Ø You have got enough power to deal with whatever is threatening your life. You are anointed
Ø Jeremiah longed for a quiet place, but this was not the solution (Jeremiah 9v2-6). Some of these things want to cause depression on us. That is why we need to cast our burdens unto Jesus.
Ø It is also important to know that whenever a lion once to attack any animal, it isolates from the rest of the head. They first isolate and then attack. They know that when you are isolated it very difficult to get help. John 10v7-10 says, 7 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.[a] They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Ø I decree and declare your freedom now.
Examples of God’s cares (1 Peter 5v7)
Ø If there is anybody who knew from experience that God cares for his own, it was Peter
Ø Jesus healed Peter’s mother in law (Mark 1v29-31)
Ø It was after a Sunday he went home with Jesus and when they reached home, his mother in law was sick and Jesus healed her
Ø One day after a long night of not catching fish, whilst they were cleaning and about to pack their nets Jesus rented their boat and after a while, he took them back to fishing. He gave Peter a great catch of fish (Luke 5v1-11). Indeed they made a great catch. Their nets almost broke
Ø When someone asked for the temple taxes, Peter knew the Lord had helped him to pay his temple taxes (Matthew 17v24-27)
Ø He knew that one day when he was about to drown in water, he walked on water regardless of all opposition and storms. (Matthew 14v22-33)
Ø In Luke 22v50-51 When He damage the ear of Marcus, Jesus repair it.
Ø When he was imprisoned Jesus delivered him from prison in Acts 12
Ø This is why Peter says, “1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you, because he knows that he was once cared for and the same God that cared for him will care for you.
Ø This same verse is spoken with David in chapter Psalms 55v22. This was after David had been betrayed by his close friend Ahithophel. Ahithophel was a close advisor to David but now he had rebelled and started advising Absalom to take overpower from David. Ahithophel was now advising Absalom to perform a coup to his father (1 Kings 15-17). In Psalms 55v22 David says, “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
Ø The most important question when we go through some stuff is to ask ourselves, “what can I get out of this”. This will help us to deal and attack our problems in prayer
Ø We should look up to God and trust him
Ø While the normal way is to find a quick way to escape, it is important to look for up to God and ask for His help
Ø Romans 10v13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Ø Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
God remembers our prayers
Ø Isaiah 40V31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Ø It is time for renewed strength
Ø In Genesis 30v22-24, Rachels strength was renewed. It says, the Lord remembered Rachels plight and answered her prayers by enabling her to have children
Ø May the Lord remember you as he did to Rachel
Ø Rachel conceived and gave birth to a son and she named Joseph after a lot disappointment. She named him Joseph because she said, “May the Lord add to me another son”
Ø May the Lord add another son as he did to Rachel, according to her prayer. In deed the Lord will add another son, keep on waiting upon the Lord.
Ø I know you have experienced some miracles before, may he add another miracle after miracle
Ø We are children of the Most High God, we will experience miracle after miracle.
Ø Jeremiah 32v27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?
Ø Jeremiah 33:33 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Ø Psalms 125v1 says, They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.
Ø John 14v12-14, 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
Ø A story goes by of a young man who got in a bus as he was visiting his parents at their rural home. He goes into the bus whilst carrying his bag and he could not put it down because he was caring precious things. Another passenger in the bus asked the young man to put down this heavy bag and sit on it since he perceived it had precious things. When he reached his destination, he thought he was going to carry the bag again. He look through the bus window saw his young brothers waiting for him with a cart. The bus conductor helped them. They were rejoicing all the way until they got home and were enjoying the precious things.
Ø The Holy Spirit is our good burden bearer. He carries our burdens all the time. May the Lord assign some angels to carry all your burdens.
Ø You should be willing to let him carry those burdens
Ø Isaiah 53v4-5; 4 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Ø The first thing for a revival with in ourselves and devine visitation is to know that GOD CARES.
Ø If we know that God cares it will revive our prayer, it revive our bible reading, it will revive our giving, it will revive our love, it will revive our community, it will revive our country, it will heal our wounds.
Ø Be healed in the name of Jesus.
Ø The Lord have been caring for you
Ø Every damage that the devil have done may it be repaired for good
