INTRODUCTION
Ø The word jehoshaphat (yehoshafat in Hebrew) means 'God has judged’,
Ø Meaning of Valley: a low area of land between hills or mountains, typically with a river or stream flowing through it.
Ø Meaning of Berachah: is a Hebrew word “Berakhah” which means Blessings. It was named the "Valley of Blessings ("blessing" is "Berakhah" in Hebrew). I comes from the word Barak which means to bless
Ø You might be in a Valley but I have come to declare that in that Valley there is a Blessing
BODY:
v It is very important to know that when we are faced with battles it’s not ours
v We should note that Our great need should and will drive us to prayer (20:1-4).
Ø Of course that’s obvious to any believer, but just because it’s obvious doesn’t make it automatic.
Ø Knowing our great God should direct our prayers (20:5-13).
Ø Our prayer reveals ours Faith and total dependence in the Lord (20:14-30).
Ø We need to prepare ourselves for the fight
Ø A valley is a place preparation. Read Ezekiel 37 the bones became a might army
Ø The Lord is seeing a might army in you
Ø Ephesians 6 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
Ø You need to know that you shall not fight your battles yourselves
Ø You need to know and be fully aware that you shall see the salvation of the Lord
Ø Fear Not; if we ask for God’s help when we are facing struggles; indeed God will help us
Ø You need always to know that the Lord is with you and always Worship him
Ø Self-reliance is the main thing that keeps us from prayer.
Ø If we only pray to get what we want rather than to seek God Himself, what does it reveal about us?
Ø When in problem that is the time to Praise the Lord with a loud voice
Ø The wall of Jericho responded to the praise from the children of Israel
Ø How can we keep from growing bitter toward God when trials hit? (PRAISE)
Ø Praise the beauty of his holiness
Ø How can we trust God when we feel that He has let us down about something in the past?
Ø Reflect on the past victories and His word
Ø V20 says believe in the Lord and you shall be established
Ø What is to be established: It means recognized, well-known, time-honored, reputable, positioned
Ø It goes on to say believe in his prophets and you shall prosper:
Ø What is to prosper: do well; succeed; flourish; grow; make money
Ø His mercy endureth forever; it doesn’t matter what you have been going through, His mercy endureth forever
Ø Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning I want to declare in this service: The Lord will set ambushes against your enemies and they will be smitten
Ø The Lord will make them destroy one another
Ø When you reach there; the battle will be finished because the Lord is in it now
Ø No one will escape, everyone of your enemies will be destroyed and will perish, Fear not
Ø You will take the spoil, riches, wealth and strip your enemy of all goodies
Ø May the Lord give you abundance in this valley
Ø It’s not a valley of crying, it’s a valley of establishment, strength, success and prosperity
Ø The spoil will be too much that you can not gather it in one day; it’s too much
Ø Thank the Lord for the valley
Ø Psalm 124v1 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say; 2 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us: 3 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: 4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul: 5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. 6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. 7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
Ø I want you to know that the snare is broken
Ø The snare is broken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ø But it can’t only be broken we need to share spoil
Ø There is a reason the enemy has been fighting us/you. He saw the potential
Ø It is also because of the spoil that they must benefit and gain
Ø Philippians 4v6: Be careful of nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Ø The Devil have been cruel but the mercy of the Lord endureth for ever
Ø Today I declare and claim my spoil
Ø I will not suffer when the Devil is keeping my things
Ø I am going to valley of Berachah and gather my spoil
Ø It’s mines, remember he (the Lord) has got good thought for us, thoughts not to harm us but to give us an expected end
Ø I am marching towards my spoil please help me. Let's march towards our spoil
Ø I will not be consoled without this spoil
Ø It is my/your spoil, the enemy has been keeping it away from me. March towards it
Ø Remember I want to bless the Lord when I get this spoil. With this spoils we shall bless the Lord
Ø Halleluyah!!! The Spoil can't be destroyed together with enemy because the enemy have been trying to keep it away from you/me
Ø Now we have discovered and we will recover it all and take over the situation
Ø We will protect it, preserve it, increase it,
Ø The blessing of the Lord adds no sorrow, I believe and therefore I say
Ø The Lord will make you rejoice over your enemies
Ø Psalm 126: 1 When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. 3 The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
Ø CONCLUSION:
Ø How do we let God fight for us
Ø Realize the battle is not ours
Ø Recognize human limitations and allow God’s strength to work through our fears and weaknesses
Ø Make sure we are pursuing Gods interest and not pursuing our own selfish desires
Ø Ask for God’s help in our daily battles
